Project Designer Position at Furniture Marketing Group

SUMMARY:  A Project Designer plans, designs, and furnishes interior environments of commercial spaces.  Responsibilities include interfacing with sales people and/or clients to determine purpose and scope of work, creates and maintains time schedules, develops furniture typicals and standards, participates in client presentations, and works with corporate account inventories.  Integrates findings with knowledge of interior design and formulates plans, renders schematic designs, working drawings, product specifications and ideas in the form of drawings or illustrations.  Estimates material requirements, costs, and presents designs for client review, approval and implementation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  A Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university or a minimum of 2-years related work experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and algebra.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
